Alexander Berg, Ph.D., concentrates his practice on patent prosecution and post-grant work in the fields of electrical devices, materials, and computing, including semiconductor systems and fabrication, optics, characterization methods, blockchain applications, and software. Other areas of professional practice include consumer electronic devices and medical devices.
Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Alexander worked on the development of novel oxide materials and fabrication methods for application in next-generation solar cells.
Alexander earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering and materials science from Princeton University and his B.Sc. in engineering physics from Brown University. Besides his scientific research at Princeton, he also earned a certificate in science, technology, and environmental policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs for a research project that analyzed, among other things, trends in patent citation rates of multi-sector-patenting inventors.
