Overview

Alexander H. Martin focuses his practice on intellectual property counseling and litigation. He has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including preparing claim charts; developing infringement contentions; drafting pleadings; conducting legal research; negotiating settlements; drafting and responding to discovery requests; and attending depositions, mediations, and hearings.

His technical background encompasses experience with aerospace engineering, computational fluid dynamics, structural dynamics, mechatronics, and biopharmaceuticals. In 2015, Alexander was a judicial intern for the Honorable Frank Montalvo of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, where he drafted judicial orders and memoranda of law.

Experience

Represented Live Nation and Ticketmaster in a patent infringement case in the Western District of Texas that resulted in a jury verdict of non-infringement. The verdict nullified a potential $112 million damages award requested by the plaintiff, Global eTicket Exchange (GEE). GEE had alleged that Ticketmaster's barcode-based ticketing system infringed GEE's patent for e-ticket exchange and venue access control technology.
