Ben Christoff is a trial and appellate lawyer with substantial experience in numerous venues, including U.S. District Courts across the country, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
He has familiarity with a wide range of technologies because of his chemical engineering background and his litigation experience in areas such as computer networking and databases, digital rights management, near field communication, medical devices, memory, and other technologies. Ben's experience includes examining witnesses at trial, drafting numerous briefs and motions, deposing witnesses, and handling oral arguments.
Ben joined Fish & Richardson's litigation practice after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ben also served as retired Federal Circuit Chief Judge Randall R. Rader’s counsel for legal research and drafting. During law school, he served as an intern to Judge Reyna, as well as to the Honorable Thomas M. Rose of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the Honorable Thomas B. Pender of the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the Honorable Herbert L. Stern, III, of the Second Judicial District in Denver County, Colorado.
