    Overview

    Chet Campbell litigates patent cases at the U.S. International Trade Commission and in U.S. District Courts for some of the world’s largest consumer electronics companies. Having extensive experience spanning a wide array of computer technology, including semiconductors, hardware, and software, Chet is well equipped to counsel his clients with both offensive and defensive strategies to protect their innovations. 

    Chet has represented large and small clients across the country and has substantial experience in both competitor suits and large joint defense groups. Valued by clients and colleagues for his ability to formulate creative approaches to complex legal issues, Chet has employed his out-of-the-box thinking in matters such as his defense of a Fortune 10 consumer electronics company at the ITC, which resulted in an early and successful invalidity challenge of most of the claims at issue. In another notable success at the ITC, he represented Aspen Aerogels Inc. in a dispute against two overseas competitors, and the ITC issued a limited exclusion order barring importation of the competitors’ products. Articulate and communicative, Chet makes it a priority to keep his clients well informed along every step of the litigation process. 

    Chet’s experience spans all phases of litigation, from strategic evaluations at the pre-suit diligence phase to discovery, trial, and appeal. His practice encompasses a range of technologies, including:

    • Prior to joining Fish, Chet interned for the Honorable Haldane R. Mayer of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  

    Since 2017, Chet has devoted time to pro bono cases with Kids in Need of Defense, providing legal defense to unaccompanied migrant and refugee children who are facing deportation to unsafe situations.  

    Outside of work, Chet enjoys spending time with his kids, running, and cultivating his woodworking skills.
