Daniel Jang focuses his practice on helping clients manage their patent portfolios and secure strong patents for a wide range of technologies.
Daniel’s legal practice includes drafting patent applications and responses to office actions, conducting patentability analysis, and performing due diligence investigations, as well as representing clients in inter partes reviews and other post-grant proceedings. With an academic and industry background in chemical, electrical, and computer engineering, he is adept at working with a variety of inventions, such as electrical and computer technology, software, medical devices, autonomous vehicles, and chemical innovations.
Prior to beginning his career in law, Daniel worked for a biopharmaceutical company’s patent strategy team and assisted with patent clearance investigations and patent litigation. He also served as a first lieutenant in the Republic of Korea Air Force.
During law school, Daniel served as associate editor of University of Illinois College of Law’s Elder Law Journal. He also participated in the university’s Intellectual Property Clinic, where he worked directly with university-based startup companies to research, analyze, and advise them regarding preparation of trademark and patent applications.
