Daniel Wheaton prosecutes patents in a broad range of technology areas.
Daniel represents clients in electrical, computer, energy, financial services, and various other industries. A U.S. Navy-trained problem solver, he digs deep to understand his clients’ innovations and their practical and potential uses. He then drafts patent applications that will provide the type of protection needed to leverage his clients’ technologies in the marketplace and build value for licensing, investment, and partnerships.
Daniel’s experience includes control systems, software, financial technologies, robotics, power electronics, nuclear reactor design/operation, and personnel management/supervision.
Before joining Fish & Richardson, Daniel earned a B.S. in robotics and controls engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.S. in electrical engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School. Following graduate school, Daniel worked in the U.S. Navy on a nuclear-powered submarine and taught engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy.
