Ethan Kovar focuses his practice on patent and copyright litigation for clients in the energy, chemical, and consumer products sectors. He has worked on cases involving chemical processing, petrochemicals, power generation, medical devices, and consumer products.
Ethan’s legal experience includes drafting dispositive motions, deposing witnesses, claim construction, drafting initial pleadings, managing discovery, and performing patent diligence.
In 2023, Ethan received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar, the editor-in-chief of the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review, and awarded the Carroll G. Harper Award. Before law school, he received a B.S., cum laude, in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He then worked as a chemical engineer for BP in its advanced technology products division, designing and producing petrochemicals. His engineering background and experience give him technical expertise in chemical processing, oil production and refining, petrochemicals, and tribology.
