Overview

Jennifer Huang draws on her background in electrical engineering and over a decade of well-rounded legal practice to protect her clients’ diverse innovations through patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings.

Jennifer’s work covers a wide range of technology, including telecommunication systems, power systems, software, mobile device technology, optics, and semiconductors.

In addition to over 15 years of patent prosecution, Jennifer has experience with due diligence, post-grant proceedings, and patent litigation. She has represented both patent owner and petitioner in post-grant proceedings, including
inter partes review and post grant review, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Jennifer also serves as a vice chair of the PTAB Bar Association’s Communications Committee. Additionally, she has tried patent litigation cases for large multinational companies at the U.S. District Court level and at the International Trade Commission.

Since 2023, Jennifer has served as managing principal of Fish & Richardson’s Minneapolis office. A diversity and inclusion leader at Fish, she is also a mentor in the firm’s EMPOWER women’s group; a former co-chair of the firm’s Asian Affinity Group, where she helped to launch the AAG’s ALLIES mentorship program; and a former member of Fish’s 1L Diversity Program Selection Committee.

Jennifer’s pro bono practice includes work for the Volunteer Lawyers Network’s housing court clinic and the Advocates for Human Rights. She has also represented clients through the Federal Circuit Bar Association’s Inventor Assistance Program, which connects inventors and small businesses with limited financial means to patent attorneys who help secure patent protection for their innovations. Most recently, Jennifer has provided pro bono service in conjunction with the International Legal Foundation to help Afghani asylum seekers apply for humanitarian parole. She also invests in her community as a trustee of a local school district’s foundation.
