Overview

Karina Calliste’s practice emphasizes drafting patent applications and drafting office action responses, due diligence, and strategic patent portfolio development. Karina’s practice also includes managing the patent portfolio for a startup company focused on social network security.

Karina is the former chair of the Black legal staff affinity group (BlackFISH) and is committed to the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Her practice includes patent prosecution in the areas of electrical engineering, semiconductor processing and devices, software, and nanotechnology. In particular, Karina’s previous experience includes working as a summer research intern at Harvard University and Purdue University. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she worked as a research assistant at the center for material research at Norfolk State University. Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Karina was a graduate research assistant at the Howard Nanoscale Facility at Howard University.
