Matt has advised clients in matters relating to a diverse array of technologies, including mobile device hardware and software, computer memory architectures, televisions and set-top boxes, cloud-based computing, software-as-a-service (SaaS), data compression, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), fiber optics, and biomedical devices.
Matt also dedicates time to pro bono causes, including advocating for clients in immigration proceedings in cooperation with the advocacy organization Immigration Equality.
Prior to his legal career, Matt garnered design and fabrication experience with the MEMS Sensors and Actuators Laboratory (MSAL) and Maryland Nanocenter FabLab at the University of Maryland. His graduate work focused on device physics and fabrication, biosensing, and signal processing. He is the author of several peer-reviewed publications relating to electrically enhanced biosensing and treatment in microfluidic devices, and integrated biomedical system design.
