Nan Lan lends her extensive experience in biomolecular engineering to a range of litigation matters. She returned to Fish & Richardson after being a summer associate in the firm in 2019 and a judicial extern for the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant III of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in 2018.
Prior to joining Fish, Nan worked in management consulting with a focus on corporate finance and process improvement. She has also worked in business data analytics, franchising, trademark registration, and trademark litigation, and served clients in a wide range of sectors including healthcare, petroleum, hospitality, consumer goods, e-commerce, computer science, and telecommunications.
Nan has written multiple motions to dismiss and summary judgment motions on 35 U.S.C. §101 to invalidate e-commerce patents, and argued in court representing a Fortune 500 client to invalidate multiple e-commerce patents for lack of subject matter eligibility. She has also argued at claim construction hearings for multiple e-commerce and computer science patents.
At the University of Notre Dame, Nan studied chemical engineering with a concentration in biomolecular engineering. She has extensive research experience in ionic lipids and their interactions with lipid bilayers.
