Rodeen develops strategies for noninfringement and patent invalidity, performs fact and expert discovery, including conducting offensive and defensive depositions, prepares expert reports, and prepares substantive motions and briefs, including claim construction briefs, summary judgment motions, and appellate briefs. He has successfully argued construction positions in several Markman hearings.
In addition to state and federal court litigation, he represents clients in inter partes review proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and in appeals before the Federal Circuit.
While attending Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, he served as an intern to the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and was the technology director of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. Before law school, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science, worked as a software developer and software architect for telecommunications companies, and was a solutions engineering consultant to major wireless operators. Rodeen combines technological, engineering, and legal experience, as well as insight into court proceedings and judicial decision-making, to offer clients a well-rounded perspective.
