Overview

Shelby Farrand partners with clients in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation matters at the District Court and appellate levels. 

Shelby’s legal experience includes drafting motions, preparing pre-suit analysis and legal research, conducting discovery review, analyzing prior art, and researching matters in state and federal jurisdictions. As a judicial intern to the Hon. Lynn N. Hughes of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Shelby drafted a judicial order and opinion for a 12(b)(6) motion to dismiss, wrote a bench memorandum for a summary judgment motion, and acquired familiarity with civil and criminal court proceedings. 

Shelby is a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  

Prior to attending law school, Shelby gained extensive industry knowledge in supply chain, utilities, and manufacturing operations while working for a major brewing company. 

In her leisure time, Shelby enjoys barre, yoga, cycling, and playing with her beloved chihuahua-pinscher, Ralph.
