Overview

Tony Nguyen helps clients resolve complex patent disputes before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and in U.S. District Courts, particularly in the areas of computer hardware and semiconductor processing.

Tony has litigated numerous ITC investigations from pre-suit diligence through hearings and is well-versed in navigating these complicated, fast-paced matters. In District Court cases across the country, he has worked extensively with fact witnesses to develop cases, worked closely with expert witnesses to draft expert reports, managed discovery in complex cases, conducted and defended depositions, and prepared witnesses for trial testimony.

Tony is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and represents clients at the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board in inter partes review proceedings.

His technical experience encompasses graphic processing, memory systems, wireless communication standards, high-performance computing, digital signal processing, various consumer electronics, DRAM architecture, medical devices, telecommunications, security equipment, and ATMs.

Before law school, Tony was a yield enhancement engineer at Samsung Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, improving leading-edge DRAM and flash devices. Specifically, Tony used statistical analysis and knowledge of semiconductor processing to identify yield loss areas and develop yield-enhancing solutions.

While in law school, Tony was a patent agent at Texas Tech University’s Office of Technology Commercialization, where he helped university researchers patent a wide range of technologies, including electrical circuits, microfluidic devices, and cloud computing.
