Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Allen worked as a patent agent at an intellectual property boutique firm in northern Virginia. With a keen eye for detail, Allen assists both domestic and international clients in securing patents for wide-ranging inventions by developing arguments for patentability, drafting and filing patent applications, and responding to office actions.
Before practicing law, Allen worked as a scientist at major chemical companies, focusing on the design and development of novel formulation and delivery technologies for new and registered active ingredients, as well as the development and launch of customized, market-differentiated specialty chemicals and consumer products. He's had extensive experience working closely with commercial, regulatory, operations, legal, and R&D in a highly collaborative setting delivering business objectives and growing the platform.
In his leisure time, Allen enjoys spending time with his family, visiting museums, and playing sports.
